Ashton & Parsons Teething Powers has been used to help soothe the symptoms of teething since 1867. And whilst our manufacturing processes and packaging have been brought up to date, there has never been a need to modernise the powders itself; the product remains the same as the first day it entered the market. Generations of UK parents have used Ashton & Parsons to soothe the symptoms of teething pain for their children during what can be a challenging time in their development.

How to use Teething Powders

The powders comes in ready-to-use sachets, simply use the powders dry; there’s no need to do anything to it.

  1. Sit baby upright to administer the powder.
  2. For babies aged 3 to 6 months, simply pop half a sachet onto your baby’s tongue – using a teaspoon works well – during the morning, retaining the second half of the sachet in the packet for the evening dose. Infants over six months can be given the entire sachet.
  3. Let the powder dissolve on the tongue.
  4. Repeat doses every 1, 2 or 3 hours as required. The maximum dosage is 6 doses in 24 hours.

Ashton & Parsons Teething Powders is only suitable for teething babies aged 3 months and older.

Teething Powders ingredients

Made from the oils found in German chamomile flower heads and one of the ingredients in Ashton & Parsons Teething Powders, Tincture of Matricaria has been used to help relieve the pain associated with teething. The calming properties of the chamomile plant have been recognised as a natural remedy for thousands of years.

Each sachet also contains 130mg of lactose, so is not recommended for those with a lactose intolerance. However, Ashton & Parsons Teething Gel, a medical device with a gum-massaging applicator brush, is available as a lactose-free alternative.

Using a Traditional Herbal Remedy for your baby

Ashton & Parsons Teething Powders are categorised as a Traditional Herbal Remedy (THR) which is registered by the government regulator in the UK. All products granted THR status will carry the logo on their packaging. THRs are not the same as homeopathic medicines which are typically used to treat symptoms by creating like-for-like symptoms. Homeopathic practitioners believe that the more a substance is diluted in this way, the greater its power for it to be used to treat symptoms. Many homeopathic remedies consist of substances that have been diluted many times in water until there’s none, or almost none, of the original substance left.

Licenced and available only in the UK, you can find Ashton & Parsons Teething Powders in major supermarkets and at your local pharmacy.
